This bronze sculpture was modelled in Rhinoceros using data deriving from an open source database containing scans and information about the planet. Using this data I 3D printed a model which was then converted into a mold. The bronze was sandblasted and reworked, after which I developed my own patina. This was done by polishing and afterwards applying a wax coating which dries and crumbles over time. The spots which the coating missed will slowly oxidate. When the wax coating falls of it shows the polished spots which were hidden under the wax. This creates a changing exterior skin which evolves over the upcoming years.
